Brazilian Dairy Cooperative Invests in UHT Carton Packs

Brazilian dairy cooperative Cooperoeste has begun packing its Terra Viva UHT milk into 1 litre carton packs from SIG Combibloc, following its investment in a filling machine from the European packaging equipment manufacturer.

Cooperoeste will use the CFA 512 machine to fill UHT milk products of its Terra Viva brand into Combibloc Standard 1,000 ml carton packs.

The machine is capable of filling around 12,000 carton packs per hour with low water and energy consumption and minimal waste.

After completion of filling packs, an automatic palletiser will enable to run smoothly and effectively during the subsequent stages.

Cooperoeste produces a range of UHT milk, several cheese products and pickled gherkins under Terra Viva brand name.

In October, another Brazilian company Vigor selected SIG Combibloc’s CFA 812 filling machine for its new dairy plant in Barra do Piraí.

The SIG Combibloc’s filling machine at the facility is used to fill UHT milk, cooking cream and a range of cream products in combiblocMidi 1,000ml aseptic carton packs.

According to SIG Combibloc, the CFA 812 machine is designed to fill combibloc and combifit carton packs in several different volumes of different products including products with varying consistency and viscosity.

Vigor operates 16 production plants in Brazil, including the new plant in Rio de Janeiro state. The site has created 130 new jobs.

SIG Combibloc is involved in supplying carton packaging and filling machines for customers in beverages and food industry.
