BASF Will Unveil New Packaging Technologies for The Printing and Packaging Industry

BASF will unveil new packaging technologies for the printing and packaging industry at the 2013 National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NPIRI) Technical Conference.

BASF North America printing and packaging industry manager Rick Grandke said, "The capabilities of our technical experts, products and technologies that support the printing and packaging industry are broad and diverse, and by actively creating solutions together, ink and overprint varnish formulators can leverage these strengths."

At the event, the company will also exhibit products including Irgacure LEX 201, Joncryl FLX 5100 and Joncryl FLX CL1, and Joncryl FLX 5200.

The dual function, low migration photoinitiator Irgacure LEX 201 is useful for UV curable inks and overprint varnishes for packaging applications.

BASF's two-pack system, Joncryl FLX 5100 and Joncryl FLX CL1 has been designed for flexible packaging inks.

The company's Joncryl FLX 5200 is a water-based polyurethane dispersion technology for flexible packaging applications and has good adhesion to a range of films.

NPIRI will be held from 2-4 October 2013 in Bloomingdale, Illinois, US.
