James Moore Is The Newly-Elected President of The National Bicycle Dealers Association

James Moore is the newly-elected president of the National Bicycle Dealers Association, elected by dealer members via online balloting.

Moore is owner of Moore's Bicycle Shop in Hattiesburg, Miss. He will serve a two-year term ending in September, 2015.

"My primary goal as president will be to seek effective and legal ways of communicating the value of the IBD to companies whose brands attained their widespread appeal on our store shelves and in the hands of our trained staff, but now find themselves considering channels of distribution that are non-sustainable for the brick and mortar bicycle retailer," Moore said.

Jim Carveth is the new first vice president. He owns the Bike Rack in Lincoln, Neb.

Elected as second vice president is Jeff Koenig, owner of Big Poppi Bikes in Manhattan, Kan. Koenig is also an entrepreneurial consultant and authored the recent white paper entitled "Commoditization and e-Commerce" for the NBDA.

Jeff Selzer, general manager of Palo Alto Bicycles, Palo Alto, CA, becomes treasurer.

Also elected to two-year terms as directors are Jeff Bailey, Bikesport, Houston, Texas; Brandee Lepak, Global Bikes, Gilbert, Ariz.; Ken Bradford, Ken's Bike-Ski-Board, Davis, Calif. and Fred Zapalac, Blue Line Bike Lab, Houston, Texas.
