Germany's Crude Steel Output Increased by 12.1 Percent Month on Month

In September this year, Germany's crude steel output increased by 12.1 percent month on month to 3.51 million metric tons and decreased by three percent compared to September 2013, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the current year, the country's crude steel output increased by 2.5 percent year on year to 32.55 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in August this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 2.67 million metric tons, indicating a decrease of 1.9 percent, including 1.93 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 14.2 percent, and 737,000 metric tons of long steel products - down 28.4 percent, all on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel production amounted to 24.59 million metric tons, increasing by 0.9 percent, including 16.35 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 2.9 percent, and 8.24 million metric tons of long steel products - down 2.9 percent, all on-year-on year basis.
