Novamont and Cartiera Di Rivignano Have Jointly Developed Talia

Italy-based Novamont and Cartiera di Rivignano have jointly developed Talia, a new line of paper made of pure cellulose coupled by extrusion with Mater-Bi bioplastic technology.

The fully biodegradable and compostable paper has been designed to replace paper and polyethylene packaging. The paper manufactured in reels or in sheets of various forms and sizes is suitable for all forms of custom printing.

Talia is the first of a series of innovative new products that can be made from paper with Mater-Bi technology.

Mater-Bi is the family of bioplastics developed by Novamont and made from renewable resources of agricultural origin. The bioplastic is biodegradable and compostable in compliance with European standards EN 13432 and EN 14995.

The Mater-Bi has strength and performance similar to those of traditional plastic, but reduces greenhouse gas emissions and the consumption of energy and non-renewable resources.
