CISA Announced That in MID-March This Year China's Average Daily Crude Steel Output Down

On March 28, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in mid-March (Mar. 11-20) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.6917 million mt, up 1.88 percent compared to early March (Mar.1-10). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China in mid-March was estimated at 2.096 million mt, indicating a slight decrease of 0.44 percent compared to early March.

According to the CISA's previous figures, in early March this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China had amounted to 1.6606 million mt, down 7.96 percent from late February (Feb. 21-28). In early March, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China was estimated 2.0968 million mt, indicating an increase of 0.7 percent compared with late February.

Meanwhile, as of March 20, 2014, overall inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in China totaled 17.0388 million mt, up 2.26 percent as compared to the figure recorded on March 10.
