Rand to Get New Coldstore in Adelaide

Vaughan Constructions has been appointed by Automotive Holding Group (AHG) to deliver and lease back a new temperature-controlled storage facility in Adelaide for Rand Transport.

The 15,000 square metre freezer facility will have an end value of $30 million and is located on Caribou Drive in Direk, which was purchased by Vaughans specifically for the Rand pre-lease. Construction commenced in February this calendar year and is expected to be completed by end of November 2013.

The facility will feature 15,000m2 office space, 7,500m2 of chiller and annex at 4 °C, 2, 500m2 of racked freezer area at -22 °C, smart lighting, and specialised plant and equipment to run refrigeration.

The Rand Transport project continues Vaughan's presence in South Australia, following the 8,000sqm project for Cahill Transport completed in July 2013.

"Our broad and proven track record in the transport and logistics industry has encouraged many of our past clients to utilise our national property knowledge and reach to support their own business growth," said Vaughan Constructions joint managing director Ken Vaughan.

Part of the Automotive Holdings Group (AHG), Rand Transport is a leading national refrigerated transport, cold storage and distribution services provider specialising in the transportation of temperature-controlled and frozen goods.
