Electric Razors Is Unpopularity in Father's Day

Electric razors, along with ties and cologne, seem like a quintessential Father's Day gift. But only 20 percent of those who use a hand razor or an electric shaver said they'd like a new electric razor for Father's Day this year, according to our recent nationally representative survey of 240 men.

Maybe the other 80 percent haven't heard about the features on the latest electric razors. Philips Norelco, for instance, has a three-in-one model for shaving and beard or body grooming. Remington sells a wet/dry model that you can take into the shower and which uses a shave gel or foam. And Panasonic offers some models that allow water cleanup without having to remove the outer foil.

Or maybe those dads are more interested in power tools and breakfast in bed, which topped the list of the favorite Father's Day presents.

If you're puzzled about Father's Day presents, read about 7 gift ideas today's dads will love.

Check our electric razors buying guide for shopping information and reviews of foil and rotary models from brands such as Braun, Panasonic, Philips Norelco, and more. Our testers found two Remington shavers--both under $100--that were worthy of inclusion in our list of Recommended electric razors (available to subscribers).

If the dad on your list is into DIY, consider getting him a cordless drill or cordless tool kit. Check our Ratings and buying guide for all the details. If you plan to start Father's Day with breakfast in bed, make the meal a healthy one, including high-quality coffee and some Greek-style yogurt. If all else fails, you can fall back on the perennial Father's Day gift of clothing. Our review of outlet stores will tell you where to get the best deals and quality.
