Palmetto Synthetics Will Invest $1.1 Million to Expand Its Kingstree Operations

Kingstree, S.C.-based Palmetto Synthetics LLC — a manufacturer of polyester, nylon, and other specialty man-made staple fibers for apparel, automotive and industrial applications — will invest $1.1 million to expand its Kingstree operations, with the expectation of adding 20 employees.

The expansion — which includes the addition of a second recycling line at its existing 250,000-square-foot facility and the construction of a 25,000-square-foot warehouse facility — is expected to be completed by April 2014. The company was founded in 1997 and most recently expanded its operations in 2008 and 2010 (See " Palmetto Synthetics To Expand Plant," TextileWorld .com, November/December 2008; and " Palmetto Synthetics Expands," TextileWorld .com, September/October 2010).

"We are extremely pleased that Palmetto Synthetics has chosen to expand in Williamsburg County for the seventh time," said Williamsburg County Supervisor Stanley S. Pasley. "Their investment and continued growth is welcomed by our community."
