Pint Glass Marks "Warmth and Wit"

A pint glass celebrating the "warmth and wit" of Scottish people has been created to mark St Andrew's Day.

The Tennents glass is decorated with 36 phrases picked by customers to reflect unique Scottish banter, with sayings such as "out on the randan" and "sun's oot, taps aff".

The drinks company asked people what makes them smile about Scotland and as well as "The Big Yin" and the "Tartan Army" entries included "squadrons of midges".

The glass is being released in pubs over the next week before St Andrew's Day on November 30. It will then be sold on the company's website.

Other phrases on the glass describe Scotland as "a nation of innovators" and the place "where the rest of the world comes to party".

Tennent's marketing manager Jane Cannon said: "Tennent's is a big part of Scottish life and culture and our drinkers really captured that with their brilliant response to this campaign.

"It was no easy task to pick a shortlist of words and images from so many great entries, but it's been a lot of fun and we're really proud of the finished glass.

"Here's hoping we'll see it raised across the country to celebrate St Andrew's Day."
