Canon New Zealand Announced The Integration of Océ Into Its Local Business Operations

Canon New Zealand has announced the integration of Océ into its local business operations with the creation of a new division called Canon Professional Print.

Effective 1 October, Canon will bring together the diverse Océ technologies with Canon's Image Press digital production printing systems, ImagePROGRAF large format printers and the new DreamLabo production inkjet system.

Simon Wheeler, currently managing director of Océ in Oceania has been appointed director of the new Canon Professional Print divisions across Australia and New Zealand, with specialist teams based in both locations.

"Without doubt Canon and Océ are stronger together; combining complementary R&D, product and customer service capabilities which can only benefit our customers," said Wheeler.

Since the announcement in March 2010 regarding the acquisition of the Dutch Océ N.V. by Canon Inc., both companies have been working on creating an integrated business approach for Océ and Canon on a global and regional level.

Although existing resellers will no longer be able to sell Océ production equipment in New Zealand, Canon said it is committed to ensuring parts and consumables are still available to all owners of Océ product.
