Nike is close to to announcing a record sponsorship deal worth more than ?00million ($1 bn) with Manchester United, the English Premier football team. It will bank United more than ?0 million a year over the course of a decade-long agreement.
The deal is almost double the current top kit manufacturing deal, which sees Real Madrid earn ?1million from their arrangement with Adidas. United currently have a deal with Nike worth ?3.5 million a season, less than Real, Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool.
