Fountain Valley, Calif. - Kingston Digital has launched a combination USB/MicroUSB flash drive to expand the memory of MicroUSB-capable Android tablets and smartphones.

The DataTraveler MicroDuo uses the device's MicroUSB charging port to expand storage up to 64GB. It has a small form factor (2.8 centimeters by 1.6 centimeters by 0.8 centimeters), a built-in key loop and a rotating cap.

The drive can be used with any USB On-The-Go compatible device, and the dual interface allows users to transfer files without plugging into a PC, and easily move large files, photos, videos and music off their device to free up space like any flash drive, the company said.

"DT MicroDuo is a great companion device to mobile phones or tablets as it lets users back up files on the go, thus freeing up space, or share files between devices with ease," said Jean Wong, flash memory business manager at Kingston.

The drive is available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB with suggested retails ranging from $9 to $28. The 64GB version will be available soon with pricing to be announced.
