Semicon Taiwan 2013 Will Drive Demand for Related LED Manufacturing Equipment and Material

International semiconductor industry show SEMICON Taiwan will open on September 4th 2013. With LED lighting application development more mature than ever before, intelligent lighting, high energy efficient lighting and household lighting have become the main avenue for the LED application market. LED lighting rapid growth will drive demand for related LED manufacturing equipment and materials. Within the last two years equipment demands have hit their peak, but it is estimated that in the later part of this year, the industry will begin to invest into the advancement of LED equipment which is expected to lead to huge growth in 2013.

Taiwan has become the world leader in LED production due to its comprehensive LED supply chain in epitaxy, chips, packaging, and end applications. SEMICON Taiwan will be held from September 4th -6th. The LED Technology Forum will be held on the 4th and the 2013 Automation Technology for Solid State Lighting Workshop on the 5th.

The LED Technology Forum will focus on new challenges and opportunities of LED manufacturing. Invited experts include the large manufacturers Epistar, Samsung, SORAA、Luxtaltek Corporation、Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc、Philips Lumileds 、OSRAM Opto Semiconductors、Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and more. Also, experts and scholars from Nanyang Technology University Singapore, Strategies Unlimite and others have also been invited to share their knowledge and experiences.

The increasing growth in the LED lighting market drives the demand for manufacturing equipment and materials.  SEMICON believes that the industry will begin investing more into LED equipment in the later part of this year and with substantial growth in 2014. Those within the LED equipment industry believe that LED equipment demands have indeed been affected by the rapid growth in the lighting market. This is especially true for the upstream wafer industry which increased wafers from 2 in. and 4 in. to 4 in. and 6 in.
