Trade Resources Market View IMCD Offers a Unique Combination of Local Focus

IMCD Offers a Unique Combination of Local Focus

The IMCD Personal Care Business Group offers a unique combination of local focus supported by a global structure to the personal care market. The company was able to draw on this knowledge and expertise for our participation at the 2013 SCS Formulate exhibition at the Ricoh Arena in November.

This year's event had the highest ever number of attendees and this statistic was noticed at the IMCD stand where the team and suppliers had back to back meetings on both days. IMCD's highlights included the three excellent presentations given by suppliers, Umicore -  “Regulatory changes on the use of zinc oxide as UV filter”, Concentrated Aloe Corp - presenting "Solar powered dehydration of botanicals for Personal Care formulations.", Salvona Technologies - presenting "Microsphere technology combinations for instant visual and sensory effects"

Dr Barbara Brockway ran a workshop on DHA which involved the technical expertise and advice from Soliance. This was very well attended and was recognised as a major success by both Soliance and the customers. Soliance are famous for their DHA but another area of expertise for them is hyaluronic acid and IMCD were able to share their knowledge and performance efficacy with customers enabling the creation of seriously powerful skin care.

On the stand IMCD demonstrated formulations that had been developed by its personal care laboratories in Paris and Milan. In this market where texture, touch and appearance are so relevant IMCD believe that presenting an ingredient in a finished formulation is much more powerful than simply sitting through a PowerPoint presentation.

IMCD's supplier, Grant, are  experts with superior skin care formulations and this year was no exception as they wowed the visitors with their new creations. They are always popular with formulators and can match any exisiting formulation as well as invent novel textures and concepts that are loved by brands and customers around the world.

AMI drew the crowds to experience their latest eco-responsible ingredients. With Alban Muller being this year’s President of the Botanical Alliance as well as President of the Japan Cosmetic Center this is a significant year for AMI. Their extracts and high-tech actives are market leading in both innovation and quality.

IMCD has their very own star as well – this year Dr Barbara Brockway is President of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists.. The industry dinner with its Wild West theme was a great success and Barbara’s costume will be remembered by everyone for a very long time.
