Packaging company KM Packaging Services has launched the Unisold produce bagging systems which will be made available exclusively for the UK market.

Unisold has been developed to fullfill the retailer's requirement for bagging systems that are high-volume, stronger and eco-friendly. The bagging system was also required to be eco-compatible as well as that which helps in extending the lifespan of packaged products like fruits and vegetables.

The Unisold bagging system has been manufactured from renewable and biodegradable sources, which help in making the bags stronger and split resistant; they can also be printed on to promote brands.

The company claims that these contrast the currently available bags that are thin and small and often split. These bags are rarely dispensed singly which leads to the littering of displays with unused plastics.

The Unisold bags come in three different sizes - 6.5, 7 and 8 micron, and are also available in several types and colours. The dispenser is designed in a way to dispense only one bag at a time which reduces waste and also improves hygiene as the customers touch only the bag that they need.

The bag film also contains additives to sustain the freshness of the contents, and reduce ripening process of fruits and vegetables by controlling the absorption of ethylene gas, water vapour and oxygen permeation. This helps in expanding the lifespan of fruit and vegetables by several days after the purchase is made.
