According to report released by Germany-based service center Damstahl, Europe’s stainless crude steel production totaled 5.4 million tons in the January-September period, decreasing by 6% year on year.
In the given period of time, the stainless steel production in Germany decreased by 14%; that in Sweden fell by 7% and that in Slovenia rose by 14%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
The report showed that the read demand for stainless steel in Europe is expected to dip by around 2.5% year on year in 2013.
