Australian Dollar Hit a Five-Week Low After Wall Street Was Dragged Down by Falls

The Australian dollar hit a five-week low after Wall Street was dragged down by falls in the share price of US banking stocks and Apple.

At 6.30am AEDT the local unit was trading at 102.94 US cents, down from 103.63 cents at yesterday’s local close.

Early this morning, the Aussie dropped as low as 102.77 US cents, the currency's weakest level since March 12.
