It is reported that the prices of medium heavy plates have kept rising in the US market after the steelmakers SSAB and Nucor announced to raise price by US$30/ton last week. Some buyers start to purchase active and mill extend shipment accordingly. At present, the mainstream prices for A36 medium heavy plates were at US$720/ton in the US market. However, some traders said that the price rise will not continue because the market demand from end user remains weak.
