Continental Tire the Americas LLC has introduced the TrueContact, a touring performance, all-season tire. The company says its proprietary technologies can save the consumer up to $550 over the life of the tire.

"The TrueContact brings together many of our innovative technologies into one, all-season tire," says Travis Roffler, director of marketing.

"We've blended our EcoPlus and Comfort Ride technologies with our Tuned Performance Indicators and added in our newest technology, the Alignment Verification System, to give consumers a tire that will save them money and give them the performance they demand."

The TrueContact features EcoPlus Technology which provides long-wear and can save up to $550 over the life of the tire when compared to the competitions' standard tire, according to Continental.

The company says actual savings will vary based on driving techniques, road conditions, tire maintenance and replacement interval.

Savings are  based on set of four tires with a 90,000-mile limited tread life warranty, $3.30 gallon in fuel, 23% rolling resistance improvement based on independent testing Continental TrueContact 215/60R16 95T compared to Pirelli P4 Four Season 215/60R16 95T and 4.3% fuel savings based on rolling resistance to fuel efficiency ratio within the estimated range of energy.gov.

Best-in-class wet braking is also a hallmark of this award-winning technology, stopping up to 30 feet shorter than a leading competitor, according to Continental. The company says the results are based on internal wet braking test of four tires: Continental TrueContactt 215/60R16 95T, Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 P215/60R16 94H, Michelin Defender 215/60R16 95T and Pirelli P4 Four Season 215/60R16 95T.

Continental's Alignment Verification System alerts drivers when it's time to align their vehicle.  The tire also features Tuned Performance Indicators in which the letters D, W, and S (Dry, Wet and Snow) in the tread indicate the tire's optimal performance levels.  Additionally, Continental's Comfort Ride Technology absorbs vibrations.

Continental says the TrueContact  is backed by some of the strongest warranty programs and service contracts in the industry. This touring performance tire has a 60-day trial and up to a 90,000-mile tread life limited warranty and a 72-month manufacturer's limited warranty program.  The TrueContact comes in a wide range of sizes from 15- inch to 19-inch wheel diameters with a UTQG rating of 800 AB for T, and AA for H and V speed.
