PPG Industries'automotive Refinish Business Is Putting an Upbeat Stamp on Booth 24501

PPG Industries'  automotive refinish business is putting an upbeat stamp on Booth 24501 at this year's SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Oct. 30-Nov. 2. The country-and-western-style booth will feature customized cars and motorcycles, paintings by up-and-coming automotive artists and an array of custom-painted items such as guitars with vibrant color schemes, in addition to highlighting PPG's automotive refinish products. Additionally, PPG will offer visitors opportunities to meet celebrities from the custom car, custom motorcycle and drag-racing worlds.

Celebrity painters Bobby Alloway (Alloway's Hot Rod Shop), Dave and Jody Perewitz (Perewitz Cycle Fabrication), Charley Hutton (Charley Hutton's Color Studio) and Tom and Mitch Kelly (Kelly & Son Crazy Painters) are all scheduled to visit the PPG booth to sign autographs and discuss painting techniques and PPG products they use. All are known for their unique and award-winning custom paint designs for cars, trucks and motorcycles. Drag-racing fans can also meet National Hot Rod Association champion drag racers John Force, Courtney Force, Mike Neff and Robert Hight from the John Force Racing team.

Custom vehicles at the booth will include a 1953 Chevy pickup painted by Hutton, a 1956 Ford Ranch Wagon painted by Alloway, and a 1954 Chevy pickup customized by PPG's own Jeff Matauch that was a 2012 Detroit Autorama winner. Motorcycles designed by Bill Steele (Steele Kustoms), Jeff Theisen and Dave Call (Gunslinger Custom Paint), and Dave and Jody Perewitz will showcase their work achieved using PPG products. Guitars painted by custom artists such as Tom and Mitch Kelly and Bill Steele will also add some country flavor to the display.

PPG representatives will introduce the DPLV 2.1 VOC-compliant series of epoxy primers, new waterborne ENVIROBASE High Performance EPW115 primer and AQUABASE Plus P950-5505 primer, dazzling new colors for the DITZLER BIG FLAKE line, and stunning colors and effects in the VIBRANCE COLLECTION finishes line.
