Three New Power Meter Models at Interbike Were Be Launched by Stages

Stages Cycling, which launched its crankarm-based power meter at Interbike last year, announced three new models Monday as the 2013 Interbike opened with the Outdoor Demo.

The new models are for the Shimano's Ultegra 6800 cranket and two FSA models: one for a MegaExo external bearing bottom bracket and one for a BB30 bottom bracket.

Stages' power meters are sold as left crank arms with an attached 20-gram power measuring device. The company also offers complete cranksets.

Stages will show the new models at the indoor Interbike expo, opening Wednesday at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Stages marketing manager Matt Pacocha said the new introductions are intended to "expand the range of our Stages Power meter to add compatibility and fill key holes."

"From the beginning we've had the goal of keeping our design relevant by understanding what riders need to train with power and making our meter easily upgradable. The basic design of these new models is based on what we've already had in the field. These new models simply open Stages Power to a broader base of cranks spec'd on new bikes and already available in the field. We're excited to support Shimano's Ultegra 6800 drivetrain, and for the much broader BB30 fitment that FSA will afford."

The new Ultegra 6800 model will be available in late November, while the FSA options will be offered around the first of the year. Stages also offers its device on various Shimano, SRAM and Cannondale aluminum cranks.
