Since the beginning of 2012, smart grid improvements on Pacific Gas and Electric Co.’s (PG&E) system have avoided almost 3.8 million customer outage minutes, according to the utility’s Smart Grid Annual Report. PG&E also says that it has deployed nearly 10 million electric and gas smart meters to date.
