From 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M on 4th, June, 2012 in Shanghai, as a specially invited guest, Made-in-China.com participated in the seminar of investing in Antwerp which was held by the COIC and of Antwerp in Belgium.

In the beginning of the seminar, Mr. Marc Van Peel, Chairman of the Board of Antwerp Port Authority, together with officers attended this seminar.

Mr. Marc said: “Antwerp city and China have good links. The port of Antwerp makes it a key priority to really know its customers and the specific objectives and challenges. Above all, it is advisable to invest in Antwerp and we want to build a sustainable long-term relationship between China and Antwerp”.

Business relations between Antwerp and China should go back to 1724. Since then, port agreements with several Chinese ports have been established.

Bruno George, Belgian Consulate General in Shanghai, said: “Antwerp Port has kept a long relationship with Shanghai about 25 years. Since China’s reform and opening-up, the training center of Antwerp Port has helped China trained over 3,000 talents in port, shipping and logistics sectors.”

Luc Arnouts, CCO of Antwerp port introduced us 5 major advantages to choose it, such as unique inland location, European distribution centers, unique platform of the integration of marine, industrial and logistics, and providing a reliable, fast, transparent supply chain in order to keep a sustainable partnership.

Then, Miss Isabelle, Customs attaché, Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Beijing, told us the Belgian Customs incentives to trade facilitation.

At last, Mr. Bart, Manager of the Antwerp Headquarters Investment Service gave us a conclusions and Listed several samples to prove investing in Antwerp port is necessary.

After the seminar, most participants expressed their views and shared their experiences. Most Chinese showed their satisfaction to this event. Most of the enterprises have approached the preliminary intention to cooperate with them.
