Gao Hucheng Attended the Closing Ceremony of the 7th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Corridors Forum and Delivered a Conclusion Speech

The 7th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Corridors Forum (hereinafter referred to as the Forum) came to a close in Kunming Yunnan on June 11. The Chinese Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng attended the closing ceremony and delivered the conclusion speech.

Gao pointed out that at this forum, all parties conducted the in-depth discussions focusing on such common concerned issues as the strategic action plan, the cross-border e-commerce cooperation platform, the special economic zones and the facilitation of transportation trade with important consensuses, and passed the Ministers’ Statement of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Corridors Forum. The forum successfully completed all the agenda.

Gao said that the Ministers’ Statement of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Corridors Forum is an important step to implement the consensuses of the fifth leaders meeting of 2014 and will provide a clear guidance to further promote the construction of the economic corridors. Next, we will better take the advantage of this important platform to promote the flourish of the regional economy and bring welfare to the peoples within the region. It is hoped that all parties can work with the Asian Development Bank to step up carrying out the work according to the consensuses reached at this form and make positive and practical progress before the convening of the next forum.
