The Ministry of Commerce Decides to Make Final Review on Countervailing Measures against Chicken Imported from the United States

The Ministry of Commerce released its Announcement No. 33, on August 28, 2015, and decided to start the final review on countervailing measures against imported chicken from the United States from August 30, 2015.

The Ministry of Commerce issued its Announcement No. 52 on August 29, 2010, deciding to levy countervailing duty on imported chicken from the United States from August 30, 2010 for five years.

The chicken industry of Mainland China petitioned for a final review on the countervailing measures against imported chicken from the United States on June 23, 2015, requesting to continue to implement the countervailing measures. After examination, the Ministry of Commerce decided to start the final review. According to the Countervailing Regulation of The People's Republic of China, if a review confirms that the termination of countervailing duties may result in the continuation or recurrence of subsidy and damage, the time limit for the levy of the countervailing duties may be reasonably extended.
