Was Apple CEO Tim Cook Really Considered as Hillary's Running Mate?

Tags: Apple, rough food

The latest release of emails obtained by Wikileaks shows Hillary Clinton’s campaign had considered a couple of tech luminaries as potential vice presidential candidates.

Apple CEO Tim Cook as well as Microsoft’s Bill and Melinda Gates were mentioned by campaign chair John Podesta among potential suitors within the released materials.

The pair appears in one of the ‘rough food groups’ suggested before the official vetting process began.

Tim Kaine, the eventual choice, also appears on the list.

How much farther Cook and Mr & Mrs Gates got in the process and whether they were ever truly considered by Clinton & co. is unknown.

The Gates family may have appealed not only for their tech and business nous, but for their charity work and philanthropy.

Cook, on the other hand, also has the experience of running the biggest company in the world.

He also fulfills one of the major prerequisites of being a running mate; the ability to steer the ship should something unforeseen befall the person at the head of the table.

Cook has done pretty well since taking over following the death of the iconic Steve Jobs five years ago this month. He’s also been very outspoken on social issues and pledged to oversee greater diversity in the ranks at Apple.

Gates or Cook? Who would make the better VP? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

One thing's for sure. Both would be a better choice than Oculus founder Palmer Luckey.
