Chamber President Zhang Yujing Meets with Mexican Ambassador in China

The President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Projects Zhang Yujing was invited to the Mexican embassy in China to meet with the Mexican ambassador in China Mr. Julián Ventura on June 23, 2015.

President Zhang introduced the basic situation and members of the CCCME to Ambassador Julián Ventura. President Zhang said that at present, the main functions of the CCCME include carrying out the information service and the legal service and organizing enterprises to participate in the trade promotion activities and commodity exhibitions. The CCCME attaches great importance to providing service for members to invest overseas and sets up the investment promotion department especially for it. President Zhang hoped that a closer cooperation can be carried out in the fields such as communicating with the Mexican embassy in major projects, the exchanges between trade and economic groups, the convening of business activities, the trade fairs and the investment promotion in the future.

Ambassador Ventura expressed welcome to the visit of President Zhang. He said that since the establishment of working relations between the Mexican embassy and the CCCCME, the Mexican embassy has participated in the activities organized by the CCCME for many times. He pointed out that in recent years, the high-level exchanges between China and Mexico have been frequent, the trade and economic links have been increasingly close and the cooperative projects in the fields such as trade and investment have been constantly increased. China has become the second economic cooperative partner to Mexico, the bilateral trade volume in 2014 reached US$72 billion and China has become the second largest export destination to Mexico. Compared with other Latin American countries, the economy of Mexico isn’t too dependent on the import and export of natural resources and bulk goods. The manufacturing industry of Mexico, especially the manufacturing of high-end products has become the important pillar of the economic development. Mexico enjoys a good geographical location, an advantageous labor cost and a strong attraction to foreign capital. At present, more and more Chinese enterprises go to invest in Mexico, such as Lenovo, Huawei and Hisense, and many enterprises are planning to expand the investment scale in Mexico. Ambassador Ventura emphasized that Mexico would held the 9th Summit for China-Latin America Entrepreneurs in this October,. At that time, the CCCME is welcome to participate in the summit in Mexico and take this opportunity to communicate with local enterprises and governments and to know the investment environment of Mexico. Ambassador Ventura also said that both sides can conduct fruitful cooperation in the fields such as the information communication and organizing commercial activities.

Present were also the relevant personnel of the Department of the League of Nations of the CCCME.
