Derbyshire County Council Has Released a Tender for The Supply

Derbyshire County Council has released a tender for the supply, maintenance and support of networking equipment, in a contract that could be worth up to £1.2m.

In the Official Journal of the European Union, the council said that it is seeking responses to its pre-qualification questionnaire.

The contract will include the: support and maintenance of current networking equipment; supply of networking equipment that is functionally compatible with the current equipment; and solution design, consultancy, specification or recommendation and implementation of networking equipment.

In addition there is an optional requirement for trade in schemes for end of life or surplus networking equipment, directly with the manufacturer.

Wide area network (WAN) and telephony are out of scope of this contract and are subject to separate procurements.

The contract will be awarded to a single operator, and will be for an initial period of three years. The contract can be extended by a maximum of one year, following the initial period.

The contract is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) and the estimated total value of purchases for the entire duration of the framework agreement ranges from £400,000 to £1.2m.

"The anticipated spend will vary from year to year depending on the equipment reaching end of life," the tender reads.
