The 5th Cross-Strait Service Industry Forum opened on May 18-19 in Taipei, and more than 300 participants from both sides across the strait attended the forum, discussing the cooperation development of opportunities of the service industry across the strait. The president of China General Chamber of Commerce Zhang Zhigang attended the forum with his delegation. The Director of the Taipei Office of CCCME Li Rongmin and the Deputy Director Cai Qiquan attended related activities.
The forum was sponsored by Taiwan Coalition of Service Industries and China General Chamber of Commerce, and was supported by Taipei Office of CCCME with the theme of “Outstanding Contributions to Both Sides Across the Strait”. During the forum, the major issues on the cross strait cooperation of the service industry like the social responsibilities of the outstanding contribution enterprises across the strait, retail and wholesale, health maintenance and nursing and sightseeing tour were discussed. Experts, scholars and enterprise senior managers across the strait like the chairman of Taiwan Institute of Economic Research Jiang Bingkun were invited to make speeches and to participate in the group discussions. The forum held the award of “Outstanding Contribution Enterprises Across the Strait”for the first time, and 19 enterprises won the award, including 10 Taiwan enterprises like Cathay Financial Holdings and Ever Rich, and 9 Mainland enterprises, among which, the Taipei Branch of the Bank of China, the Taipei Branch of China Southern Airlines, the Taipei Branch of The Bank of Communications, Jingtai Development limited, and Taiwan Travelsky Limited Company were mainland-invested enterprises in Taiwan.
The Cross Strait Service Industry Forum is initiated by the president of China General Chamber of Commerce Zhang Zhigang and the honored president of Taiwan Coalition of Service Industries Zhang Pingzhao, and is held in Taiwan and the mainland in rotation by China General Chamber of Commerce and Taiwan Coalition of Service Industries. It is an important communication platform for the service industry across the strait to exchange, study and cooperate practically.
