Russia's Furniture Import Taxes Dropped to 10%

According to the marketing survey of outlook and situation of wooden furniture, nearly five years of wooden furniture import, the trend of the growth and decline appear alternately.

44.5% growth in 2010 imports of these products, fell 13.6% in 2011, in 2012 showed a trend of growth again and imports more than 2010, about 15700 tons.

More than 35 countries of manufacturers to supply wooden furniture on Russian market. Since 2012-7-1, Russia imports from Ukraine, Italy, Germany, the three countries more than 71% of the total. The largest importer is Italy.

As WTO members plan to cut import tariffs on furniture in six years, so the most import tariffs on furniture will be from 15% to 10%. This made Russian furniture market import growth, will aggravate the competition between native manufacturers and foreign manufacturers in Russia.
