Prices of Farm Produce Rise Slightly and Prices of Production Means Continue to Fall

According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the prices of farm produce in 36 large and medium-sized cities rose slightly, and prices of production means in circulation continued to fall last week (July 20–July 26).

Last week, the price of poultry and eggs picked up slightly, with the price of eggs and chicken up 1% and 0.4% respectively. The price of meat went up, with the price of pork and mutton up 2.4% and 0.3% respectively, and that of beef remaining the same as the previous week. The price of rice remained the same, and that of flour was up 0.3%. The price of aquatic products was up 0.2%, with that of chub, grass carp and small hairtail up 1.1%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively. The price of edible oil fluctuated, with that of peanut oil down 0.2%, soybean oil up 0.1% and rapeseed oil remaining the same. The average price of 18 kinds of vegetable was down 0.3%, with that of green bean, rape and bitter gourd down 3.1%, 3% and 2.3% respectively.

Last week, the price of nonferrous metal was down 2.2% compared with the previous week, with the price of copper, zinc, nickel, lead, tin and aluminum down 3.1%, 2.2%, 1.9%, 1.2%, 1.2% and 1.2% respectively. The price of rubber was down 0.9%, with that of the synthetic rubber and natural rubber down 1.4% and 0.4% respectively. The price of chemical fertilizer was down 0.2%, with that of urea and NPK down 0.3% and 0.1% respectively, and that of potassium chloride and DAP remaining steady. The price of steel was down 0.1%, with that of hot rolling common sheet and cold rolling common sheet down 0.9% and 0.8% respectively. The price of coal remained steady, with that of blind coal, steam coal and coking coal remaining the same as that of the previous week. The price of basic chemical materials stayed steady, with that of caustic soda and sulfuric acid up 0.6% and 0.2% respectively.
