Prices of Farm Produce, Means of Production Fall Slightly

According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the prices of major farm produce and means of production in 36 large and medium-sized cities fell slightly last week (March 30-April 5).

The average price of 18 vegetables was down 0.9% compared with the previous week, among which the prices of green bean, balsam pear and wax gourd decreased by 6%, 6% and 4.7% respectively month on month. The prices of eggs and chicken fluctuated slightly, with the prices of eggs down 1% and chicken up 0.1% compared with the previous week. The prices of aquatic products went down 0.5%, with large hairtail, small hairtail and carp down 1.8%, 1.5% and 1% respectively. The price of edible oil fell back slightly, among which the prices of soybean oil and rapeseed oil went down 0.3% and 0.1% respectively and the price of peanut oil remained the same as the previous week. The price of grain food was basically stable, among which the prices of rice and flour remained the same as that of the previous week. The price of meat slightly fluctuated, with the price of pork up 0.9%, mutton down 0.4% and beef the same as that of the previous week.

The price of coal was down 0.5% week on week, with that of steam coal, anthracite and coking coal down 0.6%, 0.5% and 0.2% respectively. The price of rubber was down 0.4%, with that of both natural rubber and synthetic rubber down 0.4%. The price of basic chemical raw material dropped 0.3%, among which the prices of sulfuric acid and caustic soda went down 0.9% and 0.8% respectively. The price of steel fell down 0.3%, among which the prices of cold-rolled common sheet and hot-rolled common sheet were down 1.2% and 0.9% respectively. The prices of nonferrous metals decreased 0.1%, with the prices of nickel, tin and copper down 6.2%, 1.9% and 0.4% respectively, and aluminum, zinc and lead up 1%, 0.4% and 0.3% respectively. The prices of chemical fertilizers went up 0.1%, among which the prices of urea and NPK increased 0.1% and kalium chloratum and DAP remained stable.
