Pony Ma, aged 42, outpaced Robin Li to become the richest entrepreneur in the IT industry with wealth of CNY 56 billion, while Li ranked number two with CNY 46 billion, according to 2013 Hurun Rich List.
Ten magnates on the IT rich list witnessed more than 100% growth for their wealth. The figure reached 502% for Lei Jun from Beijing Xiaomi Tech, the highest among peers from the IT industry. Lei has experienced the sharpest wealth growth among all the magnates.
The average age for IT magnates was 48 years old, remaining the same with a year ago and four years younger than the figure for all the richest persons. Magnates from the IT industry were the youngest among all the industries.
