India Market Days Is a Project Approved by Ministry of Textiles

India Market Days Kicks off at Apparel House, Gurgaon

India Market Days is a project approved by Ministry of Textiles and is funded under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for inviting overseas buyers and buying agents under Reverse BSM. 

Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) an apex body of Indian apparel exporters has organized the 'India Market Days' at Apparel House, Gurgaon, its world class venue for the business of fashion from 5th  to 7th  November 2012. Chairman (F & B) Mr. HKL Magu in his statement welcomed the buyers and said, "The event will help the garment exporters find the right partners for their business. Through Apparel House, we have provided them with the well spaced showrooms wherein they can interact and negotiate good business."

Market Days is one of the endeavors for AEPC's export promotion initiatives for the year 2012-13 wherein we are hopeful that the apparel exporters will generate good business deals with buyers from the continent countries. Another set of Market Days will be organized in the month of September and November, 2012. 

The product profile of the event covered the entire value chain of the textile and clothing industry and included the following:

Blouses, Casual Wear, Children's Wear, Co-ordinates, Denim Wear, Infants' Wear,  Knitwear, Ladies Wear, Men's Wear, Shirts, Shorts, Silk Garments, Skirts, Suits,  Sweat Shirt, T-Shirt, Trousers, Vest, Cocktail Dresses, Evening Dresses, Bodysuit, Brief, Home Wear, Fashion Jewellery, Men's Underwear, Nightwear & Pajamas, Outerwear, Pareos, Scarfs, Stoles, Handbags, Cushion covers, bed covers, fabrics etc.

23 overseas buyers from 9 companies and 21 Buying agents visited the last held India Market Days Apparel House, Gurgaon. During these India Market Days, business worth approximately US $ 4 million was finalized / negotiated and are expecting these orders repeatedly twice or thrice.  Participants got good response from the overseas buyers and expected more business in due course.

In order to boost Indian exports of garments and fashion accessories, more than 100 showroom holders are going to exhibit their latest collections to buyers from countries like Greece, Australia, Botswana, South Africa, Ecuador and USA. Some of the leading buying agents like UCB, Numero Uno, Reebok, Li & Fung, Texport India Inc, to name a few were part of this event.

Exhibitors/ showroom holders are from cities like Jaipur, Gurgaon, Noida, New Delhi, Ludhiana etc. Buyers from Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc visited the India Market Days fair.
