High Density Polyethylene Pipes or HDPE pipes are widely used pipes for irrigation, residential and industrial applications. HDPE is made from petroleum and possess very high strength to density ratio. High density polyethylene piping has a number of uses in today's world because of its outstanding strength. The important properties of them are corrosion resistance, high strength, flexibility and high resilience. HDPE is used for pipes, coils and cables manufacturing. It can be manufactured in longer lengths and large diameter making it ideal for underground piping. Since these are very brittle it can break easily when the disturbances or shake occurs in underground applications.

HDPE pipes offer same strength as PVC pipes, but also very flexible making it ideal for applications involving vibrations. It can withstand high temperatures, but not much negative temperature. Because of its flexibility and resilience, they can absorb and dampen mild shocks in the system. HDPE pipes do not have any negative side effect on environment. It is non-corrosive for most of the chemicals and solvents, because of which they are used in chemical, oil and gas industries. Due to the flexibility offered by HDPE, they are also used in manufacturing of coils. High Density Polyethylene is a polyethylene thermoplastic, obtained from petroleum. HDPE material increases the longevity of pipes and coils. Using HDPE polymer, many coaxial cables and wires are also manufactured. HDPE possess very high corrosion resistance and durability. Being lightweight, they are very easy to carry and install. They withstand high pressure and joint pressures.

Overall HDPE pipes have greater advantages to offer compared to PVC pipes. But considering the application, required features and functionalities you can decide which one to go for. Whether it can be industrial or domestic uses, study the desired features first such as pressure, corrosion, temperature, electrical resistance, hardness, strengths etc. Worldwide there are many PVC and HDPE pipes manufacturers available, each company has its own quality standards, services and price range.
