The Continental Corporation is one of the world's leading automotive industry suppliers offering comprehensive know-how in tyre and brake technology, vehicle dynamics control, electronics and sensor systems with the aim of making individual mobility safer and more comfortable.

At present around 87,000 employees work at more than 100 locations (manufacturing facilities, research centers and test tracks) in 27 countries in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, the UK and the USA.

The corporation is organized into four divisional areas for Automotive Systems, Passenger and Light Truck tyres, Commercial Vehicle tyres, and ContiTech. The company manufactures tyres for cars, commercial vehicles and two-wheelers, hydraulic and electronic brake systems (ESC, ABS, TCS), electronic air suspension systems, hybrid drives and telematics. Alongside products for the automotive industry power transmission systems and suspension mounts. The ContiTech division also manufactures products for machine engineering and mining and for the furniture and print industries.

Passenger and Light Truck tyres

The Passenger and Light Truck tyres division encompasses the Continental, Uniroyal*, Semperit, Barum, General tyre, Euzkadi, Viking, Gislaved, Mabor and Sime Tyres brands. Whereas the premium brand Continental enjoys a leading position in the original equipment and replacement business, the other brands are more prominent in the quality and budget segments of the replacement market. Passenger and light truck tyres are manufactured at 14 locations in ten countries. At an organizational level, this division is also responsible for Continental's tyre retail companies and for the two-wheel tyre unit.

Commercial Vehicle tyres

The Commercial Vehicle tyres division comprises tyres for trucks as well as industrial and OTR* vehicles, supplying a wide range of tyres for many different application fields and conditions. Apart from the Continental brand, Continental offer tyres of the Barum and General tyre brands worldwide as well as various regional brands, allowing us to cover a variety of market and price segments. The products, which are manufactured at nine production sites in seven countries, are successful in the original equipment and replacement business.

Automotive Systems

The Automotive Systems division is a specialist for the networking of active and passive driving safety. The division develops and produces electronic and hydraulic brake systems, stability and chassis control systems, electronic air suspension systems, sensors, engine management and transmission control systems, hybrid drives, cooling fan modules, body and security electronics as well as telematics and communications solutions. Automotive Systems manufactures products at 36 sites (factories, research centers and test tracks) in 17 countries.

ContiTech

The ContiTech Division is the world's largest manufacturer in the field of rubber and plastics technology. With high-tech products and systems for the automotive, rail and printing industries as well as minining, machine and apparatus engineering, ContiTech is a successful development partner and original equipment manufacturer for companies throughout the world. The division comprises seven business units and manufactures in 21 countries.
