Hector Serrano and their installation crew Borealis, created this glowing architectural monument for the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. Dome was inspired by Rome's pantheon dome architecture. Most often pantheon dome's were considered to be a building that was devoted to God. The building consisted of a circular ceiling supported by large columns at regular intervals that hold up the dome shaped ceiling.

The Dome pays homage to this incredible architecture with a modern day temporary cathedral of light. Using art to immerse visitors in a 3D light experience, this dome is made out of almost 1000 spheres and LEDs. Designed by Hector Serrano and installed by their install team Borealis, the Dome stood tall and proud for two weekends in April during the Coachella event that attracted more than 200,000 people.
