Masculine Bathrooms Tend to Be Dark and Minimalist

Masculine bathrooms tend to be dark and minimalist, using monochrome or dark wood to convey a manly aura. However, there are many more ways to decorate your bachelor bathroom that will reflect your personality rather than your masculinity. Whether you want traditional, modern or colourful, making your bathroom your own is easy.

Monochrome

A monochrome bathroom can be beautiful; using black or grey tiles and white suites and using different finishes; shiny, matt, rough, patterned, and smooth. But make your monochrome stand out with a punch of colour in your accessories, such as towels and storage solutions. Choose something really on trend like a zesty yellow or an acid green, or go for your favourite colour, but make it bright or strong rather than subtle and really make a statement. If you’re going for a lot of black, then you need to make sure there is plenty of light as well as mirrors to make sure it doesn’t feel dingy.

Rustic

A rustic bathroom needs lots of natural materials, you built it yourself and you need to wash, relax and unwind after a hard day chopping wood and shooting rabbits. Hardwood or stone floors, wooden panels on the walls and exposed metal (think copper) bathtubs and a sheepskin rug all work together perfectly to create a rustic feel.

Victorian

There’s nothing quite like a Victorian style bathroom. Keep the walls white, and a roll top bath, a big rain shower head, with white and silver furnishings will add elegance and a black and white floor tile will bring an air of authenticity. Vintage style accessories like a cut throat shaving kit, antique aftershave bottles and ceramic jars will really finish off the look.

Spa

Everybody wants their bathroom to feel calming and relaxing, so why not try a spa theme to your bathroom? Use neutral colours and warm wood to create an inviting air to your bathroom. Don’t forget to engage all your senses and add softer light, either through candles or lamps for when you want to unwind, as well as a bright light for your ablutions. Candles are also a good way to introduce scent to your bathroom, either through the candle itself or by using an oil burner where you can choose different scents to suit your mood. A sound system means that you’ll be able to listen to something other than your tap dripping.

Industrial

An industrial bathroom is for one purpose only- to wash in. There’s no need for anything fancy or decorative. If you consider your bathroom to be functional and nothing more, then the industrial look is for you. Exposed pipe work and metal creates a stark and industrial look. If you have a brick wall underneath the plasterboard, then uncover it and paint it a moody colour like a plum or dark grey. Keep it minimal with metal and concrete, adding wood if you want to warm it up a little.

Glamorous

Just because it’s a man’s house doesn’t mean that you can’t have a bit of glamour in the bathroom. A rich colour like red or purple on the walls work beautifully with grey or black tiles on the floor or on your bathroom suite, and you must have a chandelier to finish off the look completely.

Whatever style you go for, remember that your bathroom should reflect what you want out of it as well as your personality. If you’re looking for a new bathroom suite, then check out Bathroom 365 for everything you might need- visit the website here.
