Carroll Shelby International's subsidiary Shelby American will launch the 2013 Shelby 1000 S/C at the upcoming New York International Auto Show in the US on 28 March 2013.
The vehicle is based on the Ford Shelby GT500 and will be powered by Ford's 5.8L V8 engine that will generate an out put of 1,200hp, while running on gas.
Shelby American president John Luft said that the Shelby 1000 comes with new engine, launch control, adjustable suspension and other new enhancements.
"The 2013 Shelby 1000 incorporates everything we've learned over five decades of creating high-performance vehicles," Luft added.
The Shelby 1000 is priced at $154,995 exclusive of the base GT500 and will be a limited version with 100 units.
Shelby American is also planning to take cover off another vehicle at the New York International Auto Show that will not be based on the Ford Mustang.
