US-based supermarket chain Giant Food has removed organic mini peanut butter sandwich crackers from sale following a recall by Late July Organic Snacks.
The recall was made over Salmonella contamination in the peanut butter.
The affected product is include Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers with UPC codes 89044400070,89044400071 and 89044400072.
No illnesses have been reported till date.However,customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt for a full refund.
Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause Salmonellosis.Salmonella infections can be life-threatening,especially to those with weak immune systems.The most common manifestations of salmonellosis are diarrhea,abdominal cramps,and fever within eight to 72 hours.Additional symptoms may be chills,headache,nausea and vomiting that can last up to seven days.
