A change in the management of the French flat-pack furniture producer Meubles Demeyère took place back in December 2012. The former Président Directeur Général (PDG) Bernard Demeyère was replaced by his younger brother Frédéric Demeyère two years earlier than originally planned, according to the local newspaper La Voix du Nord. According to the newspaper the management change was preceded by a quarrel. Bernard Demeyère had apparently revoked the dismissal of 39 employees that was announced in October before resigning his position. Frédéric Demeyère subsequently announced a new redundancy programme in January. Moreover, he would not rule out additional job cuts if sales declined further.
