SSAB Americas announced price increases for as-rolled plate, cut-to-length plate and hot-rolled coils by a minimum of $30/st and a minimum increase of $50/st for normalized, quenched and tempered plate, according to a letter sent to customers Tuesday.
The price increases are effective immediately with new orders and also apply to existing orders that ship beginning August 31.
SSAB's independent announcement follows similar price increases from ArcelorMittal USA Wednesday and Nucor Thursday.
The Platts assessment for commodity grade A36 plate held steady at $835/st ex-works Southeastern mill on Tuesday.
