Oral and personal care products maker Tom's of Maine has partnered with TerraCycle, a recycling and upcycling company, has launched the Tom's of Maine Natural Care Brigade, in a bid to give a second life to product packaging.
The objective of this program is to enable consumers to keep all Tom's of Maine products and other brands packaging out of landfills.
The company announced the Tom's of Maine Less in Landfills Sweepstakes, which lets participants of this program earn $1,000 for the non-profit or school of their choice, said the company.
Under the Tom's of Maine Natural Care Brigade, toothpaste tubes and caps, mouthwash bottles and caps, deodorant/antiperspirant containers, plastic soap wrappers and floss containers are accepted, irrespective of brand.
Tom's of Maine goodness programs manager Susan Dewhirst said one of the company's core values is to make packaging as recyclable as possible.
"Our partnership with TerraCycle helps us connect with others who care passionately about taking care of the planet," said Dewhirst.
