Indian car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has reported 20.3% rise in its total vehicle sales to 96,597 units during June 2012 over 80,298 units sold during the same month in 2011.
According to the carmaker, the increase in sales was due to strong demand for its new vehicle models which include the Swift, DZire and the Ertiga multipurpose vehicle.
The Indian carmaker's domestic sales increased 19.3% to 83,531 units when compared to 70,020 units sold during the year-ago period.
MSIL's exports rose 27.13% to 13,066 units in June from 10,278 units last year and the company reported 23.11% rise in its total passenger car sales in the domestic market to 70,977 units from 57,653 units sold during the same month in 2011.
Maruti said that the company's sales during the initial six months of 2012 increased 5.1% to 295,896 units from 281,526 sold during June 2011.
