Rapak, a liquid bag-in box packaging and filling systems supplier has announced the opening of a new bag manufacturing facility in Chachoengsao, Thailand.
According to the company, which is a business unit of DS Smith Plastics, the facility is located near to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport and will provide services to Rapak customers in the south east Asian region.
Rapak Thailand general manager Santi Khunpisitwong said the facility will manufacture aseptic bag-in-box products.
"Rapak Thailand will provide local customers with more than just a regional focus, as its strategic location near various irradiation facilities and Thailand's larger shipping port -- Laem Chabang -- provides an efficient supply chain that customers will benefit from," Khunpisitwong said.
The facility also has the potential of expanding its product offer to other emerging market segments for bag-in-box such as quick serve restaurant (QSR) and food service.
