Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda Motor's Indian subsidiary Honda Cars India (HCIL) has launched the Amaze sedan.
The company has made the vehicle in two variants having the Honda's i-DTEC diesel engine technology and i-VTEC petrol engine.
Powered by the 1.5L four cylinder DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine the vehicle generates an output of 100PS at 3600rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1750 rpm, while offering fuel consumption of 25.8km/L.
The 1.2L four cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine generates an output of 88PS at 6000rpm and torque of 109Nm at 4500 rpm, and provides mileage of 18km/L for MT and 15.5 km/L for AT.
According to the company, the Amaze complies with the Bharat Stage 4 emission standards and is based on the concept of Smart Micro Limousine.
The sedan comes in for grades of both the petrol and diesel variants that include E, EX, S and VX with manual transmission, while an automatic transmission in S and VX petrol grades is also available.
Features of the Amaze include dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and pedestrian injury mitigation technology.
