Cree Launches Next Generation of CXB High-Bay LED Luminaire

LED chip, lamp and lighting fixture maker Cree Inc of Durham, NC, USA says that the next generation of its CXB High Bay LED luminaire offers improved reliability and greater value than before.

Improving on the first LED fixture designed to compete directly with traditional high-bay luminaires installed in North America, the newest CXB Series LED high-bay fixtures now offer better light performance, lower operating costs and longer life as an LED replacement for high ceiling applications.

The CXB High Bay LED fixture delivers luminous flux of up to 24,000 lumens and provides a combination of high performance and affordability, says Cree, eliminating the need for fluorescent and HID high-bay luminaires. The newest CXB High Bay LED luminaire provides a higher color rendering index (CRI) of 80-plus and delivers greater luminous efficiency of 113 lumens per watt, reducing operating costs and paying for itself in less than three years, it is reckoned. It also includes an improved thermal system (ensuring high reliability over its 100,000-hour rated lifetime) and an updated lens mounting and edge design.

"With exceptional rated lifetimes, zero re-strike time and a compact lightweight construction, the CXB Series is a direct replacement for incumbent HID and fluorescent light sources, and provides the additional benefits of energy savings and significantly reduced re-lamp and maintenance costs," says Norbert Hiller, Cree's executive VP, lighting.

The CXB High Bay LED luminaire's design enables a low-profile luminaire at half the weight of incumbent technologies, claims Cree, offering versatile mounting options for a quick and easy one-for-one replacement of up to 400-watt HID fixtures and multi-lamp fluorescent high-bay luminaires.

The CXB High Bay LED luminaire is sold through Cree lighting sales channels throughout the USA.
