New game challenges kids to draw their own hero
LeapFrog has kick started its 2014 with the launch of a new action hero game franchise called Adventure Sketchers.
Boosting the firm's expanding game portfolio, Adventure Sketchers is a new fantasy game that will challenge kids to design an original character and play their hero in a fully customisable quest.
Alongside putting children's art and design skills to the test, the game also encourages story-telling among its target audience of children aged between five and eight years old.
Kids can record voiceovers and sound effects to be used in their adventure as well as add to the narrative by drawing items such as animals or vehicles that could help their protagonist on their journey to find the Pen of Power, reunite the Book of Wonder's pages and save the Kingdom from the evil wizard Grumpus.
The new property will sit alongside popular licensed titles in LeapFrog's current library, including Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
"Supported by a heavyweight TV and online advertising campaign, as well as a robust PR and social media programme, Adventure Sketchers will without a doubt be a hero product for us in 2014," said Chris Spalding, senior vice president and managing director, EMEA at LeapFrog.

Adventure Sketchers, available as a cartridge game of downloadable app, works with all LeapPad learning tablets and LeapsterGS devices.
