Honda has launched a supercharge kit developed by Honda Performance Development (HPD) for its 2013 and 2014 models of the CR-Z in the US.
The kit is designed to boost the total powertrain output of the car to 197 hp. It also includes HPD air-to-air intercooler, HPD air filter system, and high-flow fuel injectors.
The HDP will also provide sports dampers, bigger 18-inch rims, 300 mm diameter disc brakes and coil springs that have reduced ride height to enhance the driving experience.
Honda Performance Development president Art St. Cyr said: "The CR-Z was the first hybrid to prove that efficiency doesn't have to come at the cost of sportiness and fun."
"With HPD street performance accessories, including the new supercharger kit, the CR-Z will surprise everyone again with even higher levels of performance directly inspired by our on-track racing efforts."
The kit will be installed by the car dealers and will cost $5,495 excluding the installation fees.
